Jason A. Hall, MD

Dr. Hall is a board certified, glaucoma subspecialty trained, ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon. He joined the Medical Eye Center in 2011 after completing his glaucoma fellowship at Duke University.

Dr. Hall specializes in routine as well as complex cataract surgery and the medical, laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma. Having performed several thousand cases, he has a special interest in cataract surgery and the use of advanced intraocular lens implants, including toric lenses to correct astigmatism. As well as both extended depth of focus and multifocal lenses to help cataract surgery patients reduce their dependence on eyeglasses, bifocals or reading glasses after cataract surgery. As a glaucoma specialist, Dr. Hall utilizes the latest technologies currently available including laser treatments and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), often in conjunction with cataract surgery to reduce eye pressure and preserve vision.

Dr. Hall, originally from the Albany, NY area, completed his undergraduate education in Biology at Cedarville University and finished at the top of his class at the University of Toledo Medical School. He also earned numerous awards including the Gold Humanism Award for excellence in ethical, patient-centered care. Completing a 4-year ophthalmology residency at Indiana University, he gained a special interest in glaucoma care, publishing several articles related to outcomes of glaucoma surgical techniques. More recently he has given presentations to local eye care providers on such topics as “Atypical Presentations of Angle Closure Glaucoma”, “Outcomes of Glaucoma Drainage Devices vs. Trabeculectomy”, and “Treatment Algorithms for Neovascular Glaucoma”.

Dr. Hall is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Board of Ophthalmology, New Hampshire State Medical Society and the Christian Ophthalmology Society. He has an interest in medical missions, with some developing ties to ophthalmologists in Kenya. He is also very involved in the home life with his wife and 5 children. Occasionally, recreational tennis, hiking, and skiing, sneak into his schedule.

Dr. Hall has also been chosen by his peers as one of New Hampshire Magazine’s “Top Doctors” for 2023 and 2024 in the field Ophthalmology.
