Dr. Bozorg is a cornea specialist. In her clinical practice, Dr. Bozorg specializes in cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, endothelial keratoplasty, laser refractive surgery, including LASIK, LASEK, PRK, and PTK, treating surgical and medical diseases of the cornea as well as ocular surface tumors.
Dr. Bozorg is a graduate of Amherst College where she majored in French Literature and was a standout member of the basketball team, being named as a NESCAC All-Academic in her sophomore year. She attended medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine where she helped start a weekly eye clinic for the uninsured and graduated as an MD with Distinction in Community Service. During her time there she also received the Human Values in Health Care Student Award for Creative Excellence and was a recipient of the Lucy R Burne Scholarship. She completed her residency training in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego where she was selected by the faculty as chief resident. She then went on to complete a two-year fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Bozorg has published in several peer-reviewed articles, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Cornea Society. she is affiliated with and is an active staff member at the Elliot Hospital, Catholic Medical Center and Veterans Hospital in Manchester.
In her free time, Dr. Bozorg enjoys volunteering and has traveled to Mexico, Iran, and Peru as a volunteer. She also enjoys playing tennis and running long distances races. She has competed in many marathons as well as 50 km and 50 mile trail races. She has recently moved to Bedford, NH with her husband who is the author of “Five Seven Five Sports: 2012 in Haiku – Language of the Games” and daughter Nilou – who is looking forward to the green grass and fresh air of New Hampshire.
