What Is a Cosmetic Procedure?

A cosmetic procedure is performed to reshape and change the appearance of a person’s body. Cosmetic procedures are often not covered under insurance, so these procedures will usually require an out-of-pocket cost.

Many people choose to undergo cosmetic procedures each year to improve signs of aging or change certain structures of their face or body. Cosmetic procedures can improve self-confidence and make you look younger.

Dr. Dane H. Slentz is committed to providing his patients with the best care possible. At The Medical Eye Center, you can expect to feel supported throughout your entire cosmetic procedure journey.

What Is a Brow Lift?

Dr. Slentz can help you improve the appearance of wrinkles and drooping skin on your face through a cosmetic procedure called a brow lift. A brow lift is a popular cosmetic procedure performed to improve signs of aging on the face.

Brow lifts can be both cosmetic and functional in nature, depending on the results you want to achieve. Functional brow lifts are the most common type performed when correcting a droopy lid.

A brow lift aims to rejuvenate the appearance of the face and can improve droopy eyelids. A brow lift can also provide you with a less tired appearance and make you look more energized and awake.

During the brow lift procedure, Dr. Slentz will work to correct skin that is sagging in the eyebrows and upper eyelids. The brow lift procedure is relatively quick and simple, and you can leave the office the same day.

What Is the Recovery Like For a Brow Lift?

Recovery from the brow lift procedure will likely take about two weeks.

You may also experience some mild swelling or bruising as you heal from the procedure.

Some people also report numbness and itching at the suture site. These symptoms are a natural part of the healing process and will resolve with time.

Dr. Slentz will remove your sutures within one to two weeks of the procedure. Your oculofacial surgeon may also ask you to refrain from strenuous activity for a few weeks after the surgery.

How Do I Know If I’m a Candidate for a Brow Lift?

Before you can schedule your cosmetic surgery, you will need to visit Dr. Slentz for an examination and evaluation. At this evaluation, you can discuss your cosmetic goals and tell Dr. Slentz what areas you want to see the most improvement.

Dr. Slentz will then determine if the procedure will be able to give you the best result to match your goals. In some cases, you may not be a candidate for the procedure.

If you are not a candidate for a brow lift, Dr. Slentz may be able to recommend alternative cosmetic procedures or treatments to accomplish your cosmetic goals.  Are you interested in learning more about how a brow lift can elevate your look?
